Investigators Asking Questions About Police Shooting of Homeless Man Police are currently investigating why the officers called to Camillus House Tuesday had to shoot and kill a homeless man. Yesterday, investigators said they would examine the taser guns, which were used=2 0at least 2xs before the officers opened fire, in search of any defects the guns may have had. And, the medical examiner's office will also run tests on the body to see if the subject may have been on drugs, which could have riled him up enough to resist the shocks. Officers and eye witnesses think the homeless man may have wanted to commit suicide, and police spokesman Delrish Moss is quoted as saying, "The officer that was involved has been decorated on a number of occasions. He has been a good, passionate officer." Former NBA athlete accused of having sex with minor Former NBA player Vincent Askew, bonded out of jail this morning after being accused of having unlawful sex with a minor. The incident involved a 16-year-old girl & took place at a Ramada Inn on the 7600 Block of Kendall Drive. Police said Askew told the girl he was recruiting players for the girl's basketball team @ Gulliver Prep. Would-be rapist strikes again Police are now searching for the man they say tried to attack his victi m for a second time. The first attack happened back on July 13th at the 63-year-old woman's home along Southwest 28th Street and 84th Avenue, and police believe that same man returned to the scene of the crime last Friday, where he tried to sexually assault the same woman, but was unsuccessful for the second time. Authorities think the same man is also responsible for attacking a 27-year-old woman two days later, just blocks away. The vehicle he was last seen in is a four door dark blue and gray, Suzuki Vitara with damage to driver's side. If you have any information on this would-be rapist, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
