We’d like to say welcome home to 3 dozen Homestead reservists who arrived at Miami International Airport last night after a six month tour in Iraq…we appreciate every single one of you and everything that you do and we send our support to all of our troops serving at home and overseas.

Investigators Asking Questions About Police Shooting of Homeless Man Police are currently investigating why the officers called to Camillus House Tuesday had to shoot and kill a homeless man. Yesterday, investigators said they would examine the taser guns, which were used=2 0at least 2x’s before the officers opened fire, in search of any defects the guns may have had. And, the medical examiner's office will also run tests on the body to see if the subject may have been on drugs, which could have riled him up enough to resist the shocks. Officers and eye witnesses think the homeless man may have wanted to commit suicide, and police spokesman Delrish Moss is quoted as saying, "The officer that was involved has been decorated on a number of occasions. He has been a good, passionate officer." Former NBA athlete accused of having sex with minor Former NBA player Vincent Askew, bonded out of jail this morning after being accused of having unlawful sex with a minor. The incident involved a 16-year-old girl & took place at a Ramada Inn on the 7600 Block of Kendall Drive. Police said Askew told the girl he was recruiting players for the girl's basketball team @ Gulliver Prep. Would-be rapist strikes again… Police are now searching for the man they say tried to attack his victi m for a second time. The first attack happened back on July 13th at the 63-year-old woman's home along Southwest 28th Street and 84th Avenue, and police believe that same man returned to the scene of the crime last Friday, where he tried to sexually assault the same woman, but was unsuccessful for the second time. Authorities think the same man is also responsible for attacking a 27-year-old woman two days later, just blocks away. The vehicle he was last seen in is a four door dark blue and gray, Suzuki Vitara with damage to driver's side. If you have any information on this would-be rapist, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.

Olympic Update: US leads the Medal Race with 29 overall medals 10 gold 8 silver and 11 bronze with China in second and S. Korea in third. Michael P helps is the greatest Olympian ever with 11 gold medals 5 coming in this Olympics all of which set world record. Phelps has 3 more shots at Olympic Gold.

The US mens basketball team a.k.a. “the redemption team” takes on Greece this morning. The mens team is favored for Gold, however they are saying this game will be their greatest test to date in these Olympic games.

Locally we have to give Big Shout-Outs to Misty-May Trainer, the US Beach Volleyball legend, & wife of Florida Marlins pitcher. May-Trainer and her partner Kerri Walsh put that beat-down on the Norwegian team…they haven’t lost a match since August of 2007!!! Also, Sylvia Fowles, of Miami Edison and Miami Gulliver Prep, is the center for the undefeated US womens basketball team. Fowles has averaged double-doubles in the three games the US team has played to date. And, we have to congratulate Ryan Lochte, of Daytona Florida. He helped lead the US mens swim team to a gold medal blow-out in the 4x200 freestyle event, won an individual Bronze medal in the 400 IM, and has advanced to the 200 backstroke final. Congrats to TEAM USA for all their success so far, and Big Ups to TEAM Florida for representing!!!!!
