Flatbush Zombies’ ‘3001: A Laced Odyssey’ Gets Synchronized To ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ (VIDEO)

By Yohance Kyles (@HUEYmixwitRILEY)

(AllHipHop News) There has long been an urban legend that Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey was originally supposed to be scored by Pink Floyd and the rock band’s song “Echoes” was purposely synchronized to the film’s “stargate” sequence. While that movie-music connection could never be proven to have been done on purpose, someone on the internet has created another 2001 mash-up that seems to be just as fitting.

3001: A Laced Odyssey, the debut studio album from Flatbush Zombies, borrows its title from the Kubrick directed sci-fi masterpiece. The Vimeo creator known as skimilk used Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, and Erick “The Architect” Elliott’s LP for the 3001 x 2001 presentation. The hour-long video features songs from 3001 placed over visuals from 2001.

“The recommended listening experience. Made no further alterations except for shaving a few seconds off from the MGM title card and fixing some gaps and transitions in between songs,” wrote skimilk.

Flatbush Zombies’ 3001: A Laced Odyssey is available for purchase on iTunes.
