Overiew:Many executives have initiated, funded and supported agile transformations within their organizations. Today, the majority of new IT projects kick-off “agile” which signals a clear trend that agile projects will dominate the future.  With more agile projects “in flight”, executives who make strategic decisions about project initiatives are becoming more and more interested in fully benefiting from agility. This has led to a growing demand in project portfolio management techniques.This 1-day session will not only answer questions for decision-maker about the character of agile project teams, but also provide insights how to initiate, steer, and sometimes kill agile projects. Attendees will learn how to read signals from agile projects to make better decisions. In addition, through hands-on exercises, participants will explore why an agile portfolio is best managed using an agile process and what promising business opportunities arise for executives by doing so. This will lead to a truly agile enterprise with all levels committed and immersed in the techniques.Jochen Krebs:Learn directly from Jochen (Joe) Krebs, who pioneered the topic of executive agile portfolio management since 2007 and published the first book about this topic in 2008. In his career, Joe has taught thousands of professionals in agile processes, for example Scrum, Lean/Kanban and XP. Joe has led one of the largest agile transformations in the industry at AOL and infused small, start-up, mid-size and large organization with agility through his training and coaching services.  Joe is the founder of Incrementor, a boutique coaching and training company focusing on all things agile.Joe will begin with an executive briefing about agility and the tremendous opportunities they provide to the enterprise. We will cover strategies to manage a project portfolio and play a portfolio steering game. We will also discuss challenges, opportunities and risks when we use agile in distributed vs. co-located cultures.
