Organization Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Primary Category Classes, Workshops & Lectures Extras In celebration of October's Hispanic Heritage Month, MOCA's Women on the Rise!, education program in partnership with Florida International University's (FIU) Women's Studies Center, will present a special three-part lecture series titled Latina Women and the Body. All lectures will take place on Wednesday evenings as part of MOCA by Moonlight, the museum's weekly Wednesday evening programs for adults. Part Three: Dr. Myra Mendible, Professor in the Language and Literature department, Florida Gulf Coast University. This lecture will be followed by a book signing with Dr. Mandible in the MOCA Shop of From Bananas to Buttocks: The Latina Body in Popular Film and Culture, University of Texas Press, 2007.
