In response to families in our local community who are seeking healthy, natural ways to raise their children, The Monarch Collective announces the Green Family Fair, hosted by The Gathering Place at the Little Haiti Cultural Center on Saturday, January 19, 2013.You've probably noticed that going green is everywhere these days--in the news, politics and even fashion. curious about green living, holistic health & wellness? Join us to learn simple, practical tips on living a healthier, greener life. Enjoy vendors, workshops and activities focused on the advantages of taking steps towards adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle for your family.Suppliers of wholesome, natural products and services will be on hand for discussion and demonstration. Throughout the day, families will be able to exchange and gather information, enjoy organic, locally grown food and produce, and attend workshops for all ages on a wide range of topics. Attendees can browse and learn more about non-toxic personal care products, cleaning products made without harmful chemicals, building materials made with sustainable, natural products and explore holistic medicine, veterinary pet care and dentistry.Going green and being green minded means that there are a few extra considerations to keep in mind when making decisions for your family. With a million messages and ideas coming at us from all sides, it can be easy to get overwhelmed by the details --switching to organic foods, turning down the thermostat, recycling. Our family festival promotes living green with a focus on education, sustainability, caring for the environment and protecting our natural resources. General Admission is $10 if purchased online or at the door. Children 12 and under are free. A limited number of discounted and complimentary passes have been distributed to our local vendors and sponsors.
