Celebrating six years of health and wellness, the FedEx Waterford 5K will once again wind its way through Waterford at Blue Lagoon Office Park on Fri., Nov. 9, beginning at 6:45 p.m. With a special competition that awards the overall male and overall female winner, the 5K (3.1 mile) walk/run is open to individuals, families, companies and businesses. Following the race, for the first time ever, participants will be treated to a post-race party featuring DJ Irie, South Florida’s most delicious food trucks, exclusive giveaways and more. For the second year, the FedEx Waterford 5K will donate 100 percent of its proceeds and focus its efforts on providing additional funding for Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to create awareness and generate funds for Miami’s only licensed specialty hospital in South Florida exclusively for children, while ensuring that all children have access to state-of-the-art pediatric care.
