Cox Science Center, 166 Monday, October 29, 2012, 12:20 – 1:20pm Jose Lopez, associate professor atNova Southeastern University, will present a seminar titled "Life on the Bottom: Marine Sponges as a Developing Model Organism for Genomics, Evolution, and Microbiology" for the University of Miami's Department of Biology on Monday, October 29from 12:20 to1:20 p.m. in the Cox Science Center, Room 166. Lopez's lab conducts molecular biology, systematics and microbiological research on various marine invertebrates, including corals, marine sponges and their symbiotic microbes.
