Be Creative. Visit MOCA Family Day

FREE North Miami, FL….The Museum of Contemporary Art is celebrating creativity with a special afternoon, of FREE art activities and performances on Sunday November 4. “MOCA is the center of cultural life in North Miami,” said Bonnie Clearwater, MOCA Executive Director and Chief Curator. “We are happy to offer a fun afternoon of art, dance, music and performance that cultivates the creative interests of our community. “ The afternoon will feature inventive art activities for all ages directed by MOCA Educators, and visitors will be invited “make and take” their creations. Artist Rocky Grimes will demonstrate his silk screening techniques and direct teens in creating their own designs. Miami artist Pablo Cano will perform a special rendition of his latest production The Toy Box, featuring the charming marionettes and score by Claude Debussy performed live by pianist Karen Schwartz. Adding to the fun of the afternoon will be performances by young people who are part of North Miami Performing Arts Network , which offers classes in dance, acting and musical instruments at their studio on 13146 West Dixie Highway and LIVE! Modern School of Music, located on Sans Souci Boulevard. Museum galleries will be open and artists participating in the Trading Places 2 exhibition will be in their studio space at MOCA to discuss their projects. Vita Coco will provide free refreshments.
