Organization Temple Israel of Greater Miami Primary Category Classes, Workshops & Lectures Extras The community is invited to a Shabbat weekend of celebration and learning Friday, Dec. 14 through Sunday, Dec. 16, as Temple Israel of Greater Miami formally installs its spiritual leader Rabbi M. Thomas Heyn who assumed his pulpit post this past July. Participating in the weekend and inaugurating the temple's newly launched Jewish Spirituality Series will be Rabbi Arthur Green, a renowned authority on Jewish thought and spirituality who has been an important teacher and mentor to Rabbi Heyn for more than two decades. Green will speak on "Spirituality for a New Era," Sunday, Dec. 16 in a morning program, at 10 a.m., that is free and open to the community. The weekend includes a Shabbat Chanukah Dinner Friday, Dec. 14, beginning at 6 p.m. in the temple's Wolfson Auditorium. Catered by chef Michael Meltzer, the dinner is $25 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. RSVP no later than Dec. 10.
