Jazz at MOCA/AP Beach Series, South Florida's longest-running outdoor concert series, JAZZ AT MOCA, welcomes one of Haiti's most noteworthy musicians - pianist, arranger and composer Mushy Widmaier, for a free outdoor performance. Widmaier combines Haitian folk music with classical, jazz and contemporary sounds to create his own original interpretations. Mushy Widmaier, known as the Enfant Terrible of Haitian music, has been named among the top 10 best piano players or the Caribbean. He has a vast repertoire consisting of jazz standards, Haitian folk songs, popular dance tunes and his original compositions. He is particularly noted for his harmonic embellishments and improvisations that bring an energy and dynamism to "Kreyol Jazz". The MOCA Shop and Lobby will be open from 7-10 pm. Galleries are closed for installation of Bill Viola: Liber Insularum opening at MOCA on December 4, 2012.
