Dorian Avila was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. He pursues his superior musical studies in the José Luis Paz Conservatory of Music. He undertakes his formal studies of classical guitar with Professor Gerardo Soto, until reaching 8th. year. To his musical formation, the knowledge distributed in several music festivals and guitar seminaries are added; as well as in master classes and conferences dictated by internationally renowned classical guitar maestros like Carlos Barbosa Lima, David Russell, Alirio Diaz, Rodrigo Riera, Luis Zea, Leo Brouwer, Benjamin Verdery, Lily Afshar, Gonzalo Micó. He has also participated in Flamenco guitar master classes with guitarists Flavio Rodrigues (Brasil) and Miguel Antonio (USA). As a classical guitarist, he has done several guitar recitals as a soloist and participated in important musical chamber orchestras, and in 2001 he played on an international concert tour with Ricardo Montaner's band .
