2012 COLLEGE READY WEEKEND | January 26, 2013 The Urban League College Bowl Weekend is a day-long event targeting high school students and their parents/guardians to prepare them  for a successful higher education experience. A marketplace of colleges and college-bound programs will be on hand to provide information on colleges and their application processes. The weekend will provide an opportunity for students and parents to learn more about: Researching and identifying prospective colleges and universities;The college application process, including SAT scores, essays and interviews;College affordability including cost of a 4-year degree, financial aid packages and scholarship prospects; andStrategies to maximize the college experience. The event will begin with general education workshops facilitated by subject matters experts from various higher education institutions and will include topics such as immigration, college affordability, college selection, and more. In addition, students will be provided with individualized technical assistance in preparing personal statements, scholarship and college applications, and financial aid documents. By the end of the day, each student and parent will leave with a College Ready portfolio (hard copy and on flashdrive) that can be used for future applications. College Ready Weekend 0.00
