Rise 305 is looking for your assistance with our efforts to create a Snoezelen Room - asafe and non-threatening environment where children with disabilities or other limitingconditions can enjoy gentle stimulation of the primary senses. Without this room, many children will be unable to achieve any mental growth due to their disability. AtAddlington School in Reading, England, for example, teaching staff find SNOEZELENroom an “invaluable resource…useful or a wide range of ages and abilities and a variedcurriculum.” This room will enable children to experience self-control, autonomous discovery, andexploration, allowing them to overcome inhibitions, enhance self-esteem, and reducetension. This room will serve as a critical component to the sustainable success ofPATCHES and the overall well-being of the children they serve. In addition to the Snoezelen Room, our team plans to bring “Disney World” to the childrenat PATCHES, whom due to their terminal illness or inability travel, will never have theopportunity. This event will bring much needed joy and an experience they will never forget. Kickball Rules1). Maximum of 12 players on the field.
