Supporting Acts: Cell Memory & Castle If, Legato Vipers Cookie Duster Cookie Duster is a Canadian indie rock band. Originally formed in the late 1990s by Brendan Canning and Bernard Maiezza after the dissolution of their previous bands hHead and Change of Heart, the band released a self-titled album in 2001 with a lineup that included Evan Cranley, Danko Jones, Spookey Ruben and Ian Blurton, but subsequently went on hiatus as Canning's other project, Broken Social Scene, broke through to mass popularity. Following Broken Social Scene's announcement in 2011 that they were going on hiatus, Canning and Maiezza revived Cookie Duster, working with a new band lineup including vocalist Jeen O'Brien, guitarist Matt Murphy and drummer Damon Richardson (Danko Jones). The current lineup released the album When Flying Was Easy in June 2012. The Magic The Magic are brothers Geordie and Evan Gordon, born and bred in the small Canadian city of Guelph, Ontario. The brothers formed, and styled, The Magic in the back room of a now defunct treasure trove of a thrift store in downtown Guelph. Geordie sings, plays guitar and keys, with Evan on bass, backing vocals and production. Live they're also joined by Sylvie Smith (Evening Hymns) on vocals and keys and Aaron Curtis on drums. Geordie and Evan also play in the bands Islands and Human Highway. The debut album, released June 2012, has been mixed by Roger Leavens (Born Ruffians, Woodhands).
