“Chipollino” is a beautiful ballet in two acts, choreographed by Ballet Master Vladimir Issaev to the music of Russian composer K. Katchturian. This ballet in two acts is based on Gianni Rodiari’s tale about vegetables.
The story takes place in the happy town of Limonia where flowers, vegetables and fruits share their lives under the power of the tyrant Prince Lemon. Chipollino is the young son of a popular family of onions. Chipollino steps on the Prince’s foot and runs away. When the police cannot find him, they take his father to jail. Chipollino decides to rescue his father and put a stop to the evil police. At Countess Cherry’s castle, Chipollino and Ms. Carrot befriend the sad princess while on their way to rescue Chipollino’s fathers.
