I'm happy to announce the gradute students of the Microbiology and Immunology department have organized the Enrique Cepero Memorial Lecture this year. Our visiting speaker is none other than Susan L. Swain Ph.D. As a recent recipient of the AAI Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr. Swain has made significant contributions to the field of immunology. Her critical work includes the mechanisms that contribute to T-cell memory as well as Th1/Th2 differentation. With almost 200 publications in her name, she is a veritable titan in the field. Having been president of the Trudeau institute and AAI, editor for numerous journals, and on countless advisory panels, Dr. Swain's knowledge of science and its administration is unrivaled. She will be giving the Enrique Cepero memorial lecture on June 27th 12:00-1:00pm in the RMSB (Rosensteil) 3rd floor auditorium. Everyone is welcome! We especially hope to see all of the graduate students in the Immunology department to join, because after the talk the graduate students will have lunch with Dr. Swain.
