Pianist/keyboardist/composer Bryn Roberts lives in New York City, where he is in demand in a wide variety of musical contexts. Roberts has performed extensively both as a sideman and a leader. He has played at many of New York's prestigious jazz clubs, including the Blue Note, Birdland, Smalls, Fat Cat, the 55 Bar and the Jazz Gallery. He has appeared with many of New York's top jazz musicians, including Seamus Blake, Chris Cheek, Lage Lund, Victor Lewis, Jochen Ruckert, Will Vinson, Matt Penman, John Ellis, Rodney Green, Jonathan Blake, Kendrick Scott, Jonathan Kreisberg and vocalist Melba Joyce. Bryn is a member of the acclaimed Alan Ferber Nonet, and has recorded with the group for three releases: "Scenes From An Exit Row", "The Compass" and "Chamber Songs" the last of which features one of Bryn's compositions. He has recorded numerous concerts and sessions for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) Radio and has made many international festival appearances, including the Montreal International Jazz festival, the Edinburgh Festival (UK) and the Oslo International Jazz Festival (Norway). Bryn has two albums out as a leader: his debut "Present Tense", his second is called "Ludlow", featuring Seamus Blake, bassist Drew Gress and drummer Mark Ferber on the Fresh Sound/New Talent label. His third album featuring Seamus Blake, Johnathan Blake and Orlando LeFleming will be released this fall. In recent years, Bryn has turned his talents to the world of rock, pop, R and B and folk music as well, performing with Juno-award-winning artist Serena Ryder (Atlantic Records), and touring widely with the acclaimed folk-pop singer Dar Williams (Razor and Tie Records), with whom he has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Town Hall, Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble in Woodstock, and many other concert venues throughout the USA, UK and Canada. He has also performed with a long list of other artists including UK singer Rumer, Josh Radin, Everett Bradley, LP, Malaysian singer Yuna, southern rocker Kevn Kinney (of Drivin N Cryin) Rene Lopez, The Madison Square Gardeners, Tim Easton, JP Olsen, Jim Keller and Gloria Reuben.
