German explosion: 25 hurt, 4 seriously, in Wuppertal blast

At least 25 people were hurt in an explosion in Wuppertal, Germany, police said Sunday.

According to The Associated Press, four victims were hurt "severely" in the blast and ensuing fire late Saturday at a "several-story building." The other victims suffered slight injuries, the AP reported

"It can currently not be ruled out that there are still other people in the building," police said Sunday, according to Deutsche Welle. "The rescue efforts are ongoing."

Authorities are looking into what caused the blast, the AP reported.

San Diego police shooting: 2 officers injured, suspect dead

Two police officers reportedly were shot and injured late Saturday in San Diego, California. 

Here is the latest information:

Update 12:24 p.m. PDT June 24: Homicide Capt. Mike Hastings said at a news conference that investigators were waiting for a search warrant so they could enter the condominium where the shooting occurred, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported. 

The names of the officers injured have not been released. Investigators also have not released the name of the suspect who was killed, the Union-Tribune reported. Police also did not confirm whether the man was a resident of the unit.

Update 1:43 a.m. PDT June 24: KNSD’s Omari Fleming reports that investigators are unsure whether the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound or was killed by officers. 

KSWB’s Andrew Luria tweeted that “hundreds of rounds may have been fired” in the shootout.

Update 1:07 a.m. PDT June 24: The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that the suspect is dead. According to the newspaper, “a police dog went in and bit the suspect on the leg” after a robot searched the apartment. 

“After getting no response from the man, police determined he was dead shortly before 1 a.m.,” the Union-Tribune reported.

Update 1 a.m. PDT June 24: According to KSWB’s Andrew Luria, one of the wounded San Diego police officers “is currently in surgery with a life-threatening injury” after being shot in the chest. The second officer suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder but is “expected to be OK,” Luria tweeted.

Update 12:26 a.m. PDT June 24: According to KFMB reporter Steve Price, the shooting suspect “appears to be down” and has “head trauma.”

KSWB’s Andrew Luria reported that the suspect had been “wearing body armor.” Officers sent a robot into the apartment where he had been hiding, police said.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reported that the suspect was “possibly deceased.”

The wounded San Diego police officers’ condition was not yet known, Price tweeted.

Update 12:01 a.m. PDT June 24: According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, police said a gunman shot at officers through a wall at an apartment complex off Rolando Court. A SWAT team was at the scene, where the suspected shooter was still inside the building, police said.

The newspaper reported that officers had taken another man into custody about 11:20 p.m. PDT but “ascertained within moments that he was not the shooter.”

Emergency personnel rescued a firefighter from the building after the two wounded police officers “and at least one firefighter were pulled out of the building on a ladder,” the Union-Tribune reported.

XXxTentacion Allegedly SHOT In Miami

According to TMZ, The 20-year-old rapper was shopping for motorcycles in Miami and as he was leaving the motorcycle dealer, a gunman ran up to his vehicle and shot him reportedly leaving XXxTentacion with “No Pulse”

XXxTentacion was in his share of feuds ... but, as far as we know, there were no threatening fights between him and anyone else.

He's had serious legal trouble ... he's awaiting trial for domestic violence against his pregnant girlfriend. He's facing more than a dozen felony charges. Prosecutors accused him of witness tampering. 

Chef, author, TV star Anthony Bourdain dead at 61

Anthony Bourdain, an American chef, author, and television personality who hosted “Parts Unknown,” was found dead in his hotel room, CNN reported Friday. He was 61. 

Bourdain was found in his hotel room in Strasbourg, France, CNN reported.

The Emmy-winning host committed suicide, CNN confirmed.

"It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain," CNN said in a statement Friday morning. "His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time."

Bourdain was in France to work on an upcoming episode of “Parts Unknown,” an award-winning series on CNN. His friend, French chef Eric Ripert, found Bourdain unresponsive in his hotel room, CNN reported.

The eleventh season of "Parts Unknown" premiered on CNN last month.

Bourdain won a Peabody Award in 2013 for “expanding our palates and horizons in equal measure," CNN reported.

“I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to his family,” President Donald Trump said as he prepared to attend the G7 summit in Canada. “I enjoyed his show. He was a character.” 

Bourdain's death occurred three days after fashion designer Kate Spade hanged herself at her Manhattan apartment on Tuesday.

Shooter dead in Panama City, Florida standoff, reports say 

A standoff in Panama City, Florida, ended Tuesday with the death of the alleged shooter.

When police were able to get inside the apartment of Kevin Robert Holroyd, they found the suspected killer dead in a gas-soaked apartment, according to the News Herald.

Authorities were searching for Holroyd, 49, in connection with a murder Tuesday morning in Santa Rosa Beach in Walton County, according to the sheriff’s office.

When they attempted to access his apartment building Tuesday afternoon, authorities said Holroyd opened fire on officers, sparking an intense exchange of gunfire, then a standoff that lasted several hours.

Update 4:10 p.m. EDT:

Investigators were searching the Briarwood Apartments after several rounds of gunfire were exchanged Tuesday afternoon between shooting suspect Kevin Robert Holroyd  and Bay County first responders.

Bay County authorities believe Holroyd is involved with the shooting death of a 30-year-old man in Walton County Tuesday morning, the News Herald reported.

Investigators had been watching Holroyd’s apartment when they received reports of a gas leak at the building, according to the News Herald. When they tried to check the building, the suspect opened fire.

Update 3:50 p.m. EDT: The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the standoff in Panama City is related to a fatal shooting at a home in Santa Rosa Beach.

The victim has been identified as Clinton Street. Street was 30 years old and was killed at a house on White Heron Drive. There’s no word on what led to Street’s death or who the suspect is, but the sheriff’s office said in a tweet that the two incidents are related.

Update 2:40 p.m. EDT: Walton County sheriff’s deputies confirmed that a shooting in Panama City, described Tuesday afternoon by police as active and ongoing, appeared to be connected to a suspicious death reported earlier Tuesday in Santa Rosa Beach.

Authorities did not immediately elaborate on the connection.

Update 2:33 p.m. EDT: Police described the incident as an ongoing “active shooter situation,” according to multiple reports.

Caitlin Lawrence, public information officer for Panama City, told the News Herald that authorities believe the suspect was still on the scene Tuesday afternoon.

Original report: Witnesses told WJHG that they heard more than 50 shots.

What sounded like gunshots could be heard on-air as WMBB interviewed a witness about the shooting.

One person has been reported with a graze wound, the Panama City News Herald reported.

Man accused of killing deputy in Maine captured

UPDATE: Authorities have captured John Williams, the man believed to have shot and killed a sheriff's deputy in Maine early Wednesday.

Williams was captured alive Saturday, according to authorities.
