99 Co-sign: Kiddo Marv Reveals How He Got Keith Sweat’s Blessing & More

Kiddo Marv walked into 99 JAMZ with a purpose. The Miami native strolled into the station while rocking a jungle green jacket, jeans and sun glasses. Chad Thomas aka Major nine followed him into the studio, and refused to let him off the hook for wearing shades at night. Although they cracked jokes the whole time, Kiddo remained adamant about his hustle to become the next MC to blow from Dade County.

Our April 99 Co-sign winner Kiddo Marv recently came through to the station to co-host the Top 8 at 8 with DJ Nasty and Big Mack, and put his buzzing single off his K.I.D.D.O (Kingz In Denial Don't Overcome) project to the ultimate test in 'Battle JAMZ.' In between their infamous countdown, Kiddo told the story of how "Drip" came to life after Major Nine FaceTimed him and played him the beat.

The banger oozing with sauce contains a slick sample of Keith Sweat’s “I’ll Give All My Love To You.” Once they dropped the record, Kiddo had to make all the right moves to ensure the sample was cleared by Sweat himself. Not only did his own plugs come through, but also his loyal fanbase helped him grab the legendary R&B singer’s attention.
