Samuel L. Jackson Had the Best Reaction to Spike Lee Winning an Oscar

Spike Lee Wins Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay

The host-less 2019 Oscars aired last night on ABC and if you made it through the whole three hours, you deserve a round of applause because my eyes kept fighting me.

From mixed reviews to small upsets, one of a few moments that will go down in black culture history and black cultural moments in general, is Uncle Samuel L. Jackson’s reaction to presenting his fellow Morehouse brother, Spike Lee, an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, for BlacKkKlansmen.

In addition to jumping in Jackson’s arms (bring on the GIFs) as he walked on stage, Spike didn’t mince words in his acceptance speech, with part of it being censored out due to some colorful words used.

We couldn’t be more happier for Spike Lee and the rest of our black family that walked away with awards at this year’s Oscars. Peep the #OscarsSoBlack cultural moment between Spike Lee and Samuel L. Jackson below.
