ELGIN, Texas — A man allegedly killed his girlfriend and buried her in her backyard in Texas.
The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office says they were called out for an emergency on May 6 at a home. AA man, Josue Saravia-Agueta, 34, was located in his driveway by relatives of a woman, Catherin Alonzo-Lopez, 28, who lived there with him. Saravia-Agueta had injuries to his neck and was unable to speak. BCSO says he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Alonzo-Lopez’s family was concerned about her well-being and had been unable to locate her. The following morning, BCSO says family members returned to the home to feed the animals and noticed a “disturbed ground” in the backyard. They called the sheriff’s office which executed a search warrant. BCSO deputies discovered Alonzo-Lopez’s body.
BCSO says it took them some time to release information on this case due to Saravia-Agueta’s injuries and his inability to speak.
KEYE-TV says Saravia-Argweta has been charged with murder and he remains in the hospital. His bond has been set at $1 million. Alonzo-Lopez’s cause of death has not yet been determined. The investigation is ongoing.
