Oregon woman evacuates 85 goats in Subaru and trailers in fire evacuation

MOLALLA, Ore. — 85 goats were rescued from the path of the Riverside Fire in Molalla, Oregon, but it took the owner several trips in her Subaru.

Carine Goldin, who owns the Goldin Artisan Goat Cheese farm, was evacuated from her farm on Sept. 8 and left her 85 goats behind.

According to KPTV, Goldin returned to the farm to take the goats to safety in her Subaru and a trailer.

“We put all the little ones, and there were seven in the Subaru. They actually lined up nicely on one end,” Goldin told KPTV.

She took the first load to Canby before returning to get the rest, this time with help. Goldin told KPTV that Clackamas County stepped in with additional trailers.

Goldin remains in Canby with her goats, and her home has not burned. She says she will return once there is no chance of fire getting close to the farm.
