A registered sex offender in Virginia is accused of accessing the Snapchat accounts of several high school students, threatening to expose their private photographs and videos, authorities said.

Christopher Louis Martini Jr., 33, of Lorton, was charged with two counts of using a computer to gather identifying information and two counts of computer trespass, Fairfax County police said in a news release.

Martini has been a registered sex offender in Virginia since Sept. 24, 2020, according to the state’s sex offender registry.

According to Fairfax County authorities, students at South County High School, in Lorton, and at West Springfield High School, in West Springfield, reported contact with Martini, who was posing as a Snapchat representative, WJLA reported. Martini convinced the victims to provide identifying information and login credentials, Fairfax police said in its news release.

Police said Martini then posed as another Snapchat account user, “pviexposed,” and claimed to have access to “sensitive content from the victims' accounts,” including private videos and images, the television station reported.

According to police, Martini threatened to expose their videos and images, The Washington Post reported.

Martini is being held at the Fairfax County jail, the newspaper reported. Additional charges are pending further investigation, Fairfax police said in its news release.

No attorney was listed for Martini in Fairfax County court records.
